Pemberton is a yellow, fuzzy labrador retreiver and he wants nothign more than to meet this "forever family" he's been hearing all about! 
In the puppy mill where he was born, Pemberton is taken from his mother and put in a cage by himself, deprived of the comfort of being loved and cared for. After he's rescued by local shelter workesr, he eventually finds himself in a foster home for other dogs like him. While the older labs, Gus and Churchill, help Pemberton come out of his shell, he still longs to find a home where he truly belongs. 

One day at the foster home, a family with a shy little boy comes to visit, and Pemberton thinks this just might be the "forever family" he's heard about...
